Beegan Superfood Smoothie

Beegan Superfood Smoothie

Most weekdays there’s no way around it: waking up to an alarm clock sucks. But with proper nutrients to fuel your day, that snooze button may not be the only key to more morning energy! That’s why we made a beelicious beegan smoothie to up your health game and get you excited to roll out of bed and sip on some tasty superfoods! Two of the cornerstones of this power smoothie have the nutrient profile to give you a lasting energy boost: Matcha contains the amino acids theophylline and L-theanine which work with the caffeine to give a matcha sipper a more sustainable boost. Unlike coffee, which can sometimes come with jitters, the L-theanine in matcha helps to create a stable mental alertness which means you can sip jolt and jitter free. Think of bee pollen as your multivitamin and protein boost. This superfood is full of protein (~40%), amino acids, B complex vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, folic acid and carotenoids. There are reports of Olympic and sports teams taking bee pollen regularly with some studies demonstrating increased performance, blood hemoglobin values and shortened recovery time after intense physical exercise. Francis Huber, a renowned German naturalist, called bee pollen the “greatest body builder on earth” and even Muhammad Ali consumed it regularly during his career!
